Vintage Wollensak Handheld Telescope 15-40 Coated Optics Spyglass w tripod mount

Vintage Wollensak Handheld Telescope, 15x-40x, Coated Optics, Spyglass.
Scope in great cosmetic and functional condition.
About 9" long closed, appx 26" fully extended.
Optics look,
Someone used black cloth tape to secure a tripod mount to it.   It's pretty nice handiwork and very solid.
But it is heavy.   If you don't want the tripod mount I can take it off and recalculate the shipping for about 1.3lb plus packing
materials and box, I'm guessing close to 2 lbs.   Because I haven't removed the tripod I can only assume that the finish underneath is ok.
The rest of it seems well taken care of and not abused.
If there are unseen blemishes I will work with you on reducing the price based on the nature of the defect.
I think the value in the tripod mount is that for sustained attention to an object like a bird of prey nest or something like that it would
give a pretty stable aim over time.    I have no idea if the threads are for a standard tripod (if such a thing exists) or not.   The hole is about 3/8" in diameter.
